Bio-behavioral research conducted within the project “Building a sustainable system of comprehensive services on HIV prevention, treatment, care and support for MARPs and PLWH in Ukraine”funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Objective: to monitor the awareness level on HIV/AIDS and prevalence of HIV risk behavior among prisoners to determine the HIV prevalence and need for ART.

Methods of data collection:

1. Interviewing prisoners;
2. HIV testing of prisoners;
3. Test to determine the number of CD4 lymphocytes.

Totallyinterviewed: 1500 respondents in 26 correctional facilities and 4 juvenile correctional facilities.
