In the course of this study, the role of the gender factor in the development of the HIV/AIDS epidemic was analyzed, including the influence of gender stereotypes that exist in the social, economic and political spheres on the vulnerability of the population to HIV/AIDS, as well as the influence of gender inequality on the effectiveness of the response to the epidemic .
