This educational publication is based on research conducted by the Socioconsulting Analytical Center. In the course of this study, the role of the gender factor in the development of the HIV/AIDS epidemic was analyzed, including the influence of gender stereotypes that exist in the social, economic and political spheres on the vulnerability of the population to HIV/AIDS, as well as the influence of gender inequality on the effectiveness of the response to the epidemic .
