The study included an analysis of economic and social factors of the HIV/AIDS development in the two regions of Ukraine, as well as the current situation of HIV/AIDS in the regions, particularly, the regional response to the epidemic and the factors affecting its efficiency. An important component of the study was an analysis of the institutional operational mechanism of the regional coordinating councils to prevent the spread of HIV-infection/AIDS and identify the needs of its members.
