This publication is a report on the findings of the research, conducted in 2005 by the AC “Socioconsulting” commissioned by the Social Workers’ League of Ukraine and with financial support from the UN Population fund. During the research the legal basis of governmental policy on the health of men was analyzed and its implementation by governmental agencies and community organizations. Using sociological methods the level of public awareness on the reproductive health components was investigated, its preservation factors, institutions where you can get advice consultation and qualified help. Special attention was paid to the analysis of the authors’ attitude towards reproductive functions of men and their sexual activity and actual behavioral practices, including the usage of contraceptives, making decisions about family planning, recourse to medical facilities and others. Another area of analysis was the needs study for information and services on reproductive health problems.
