The study was conducted with the aim of monitoring and evaluating the first results of the introduction of the “Profigener” project, implemented in 2016 by HIV-service NGOs in selected regions of Ukraine with the support of ICF “Alliance of Public Health”.
The main objectives of the study were:
1. To study the specifics of the project implementation process from the point of view of clients and NGO employees with a focus on its positive aspects and possible problems.
2. Evaluate the results of the project with a focus on the changes that have occurred in:
a. Level of knowledge of clients about HIV / AIDS / STI and viral hepatitis;
b. Risky behavioral practices of clients;
c. Practice of testing and receiving medical care by clients;
d. Customer relationships with their partners;
e. Level of knowledge and professional skills of employees;
f. General level of activities of NGOs.
3. To determine further prospects for the development of the “Profigener” project by:
a. Clarifying the needs of clients in the services provided by NGOs;
b. Assessing the needs for working with new client groups;
c. Developing ways to improve other components of the project (for example, how to attract and retain clients, etc.).
In this monitoring sociological study was used the pre-post design, which included collecting and analyzing data on the opinions, attitudes and behavior of clients and employees before the start of the project and at the final stage of its implementation.
