On April 2, 2024, the national news agency Ukrinform hosted a presentation on the results of the project “Efficiency of the policy of supporting the economic activity of internally displaced women as a component of the early recovery of Ukraine”. This project is implemented by the AC “Socioconsulting” with the support of ISAR Ednannia within the framework of the project “Ukraine Civil Society Sectoral Support Activity”, implemented by ISAR Ednannia in consortium with the Ukrainian Center for Independent Political Research (UCIPR) and the Center for Democracy and Rule of Law (CEDEM) thanks to the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development.
The speakers at the event were representatives of the AC “Socioconsulting”: its director Iryna Demchenko, as well as the head of the department for monitoring and evaluation of social projects Natalia Bulyha and analyst Iryna Teryukhanova.
The presentation was attended by representatives of government agencies, international organizations and domestic non-governmental organizations working in the field of supporting economic activity and assisting IDPs, namely: The Ministry of Economy, social protection departments, employment centers, public councils of IDPs, representative offices of the international humanitarian organization CARE International, “Convictus Ukraine”, CF “The Right to Protection” and others.
During the event, we presented the findings of a sociological survey conducted by AC “Socioconsulting” on the challenges in the field of economic activity of IDP women, the effectiveness of interventions to support such activity implemented by the authorities and NGOs, and suggested possible ways to improve the policy of supporting the economic activity of IDP women.
The study analyzed the experience of finding a job in a new place of residence, challenges and obstacles faced by three groups of IDP women: unemployed women, employees and women entrepreneurs. In total, 500 IDP women aged 18-59 were interviewed using the personal interview method. Researchers organized 2 focus groups with IDP women and 25 in-depth interviews with experts and women who have experience in economic activity support programs.
