The survey collected data on awareness and sexual behavior of the population of Ukraine aged 15-49, to quantify national indicators for monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of HIV/AIDS control measures. Calculated indicators: the level of knowledge of the main ways to prevent the sexual transmission of HIV, the proportion of those who have been tested for HIV in the last 12 months and know their results, the proportion of those who have had sex with more than one partner in the last 12 months, the proportion of those who had more than one sexual partner in the last 12 months and those who reported using a condom during their last sexual intercourse, the proportion of young people (15-24 years) who had early sexual intercourse before the age of 15, the proportion of women aged 15-49 who have ever been married or had a partner and were subjected to physical or sexual violence by an intimate male partner in the last 12 months.

Survey method:

Structured interviews “face to face” including respondents filling-in the parts of questionnaire about their sexual practices
Survey geography: national representative sample of the population of reproductive age. The total number of respondents was 2,003 in all regions of Ukraine (AR Crimea, 24 regions, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol) and types of settlements.
