As part of the projects “Making the Agenda” and “Women. Peace. Security”, 2023-2024, and “Women. Peace. Security: Acting Together”, 2024-2025, implemented by the ICF “UFPH”, it was planned to conduct research using the “Safe Community” methodology by initiative groups of target territorial communities.
The international research methodology “Safe Community” combines several methods of collecting information, including desk analysis, security audits (inspection of the community territory according to a specially developed list of criteria with recording of information in the relevant observation form), surveys of the community population, etc. The key feature of this methodology is its focus on identifying specific applied security problems/risks in the community and developing recommendations for their solution/mitigation.
Our expert services included finalizing the standard international methodology in accordance with Ukrainian realities, advising community initiative groups on the application of the methodology (data collection), preparing analytical reports and presentations based on the research results, and further advocating for measures aimed at improving community security based on the security audit results. Our experts also reviewed and helped finalize analytical reports and presentations prepared by the initiative groups.
In total, more than 60 target communities were provided with consultancy services during both projects.
