This study is one of the components of the monitoring and evaluation of the project, implemented by ACO “Initiative for Life” under a grant and technical support from USAID project “Reform of HIV services in action.” The purpose of the research was to evaluate the effectiveness of information and educational activities carried out in the framework of the project, aimed at reducing stigma towards patients among the most vulnerable to HIV groups and PLHIV among medical professionals in Mykolayiv, Odesa and Kherson regions.

Methods of data collection:

This study involved the collection of data in two stages: before (baseline assessment) and after (final score) the project.

The main research method used was a survey of patients among the groups of PLHIV and those at increased risk. During the basic and final interviews, we held 150 semi-structured interviews with patients. A total of 300 interviews.

During the final phase of the study, we also conducted 15 in-depth interviews with health workers who participated in informational and educational events organized under the project.
